READ-2-REVEIW - CONTEMPORARY - A SCORING CHANCE (Portland Timberwolves, #1) by AJ Alexander

Just one smile from her sets my entire world ablaze.

A Scoring Chance, an all-new small town, interracial, hockey romance from USA Today bestselling author AJ Alexander is now available!

BLURB

After a devastating knee injury puts my professional hockey career on ice, I find myself in the last place I want to be—back in my small hometown, coaching peewee hockey. I’m determined to focus on my comeback—until Ramona King shows up at my first practice.

Just one smile from her sets my entire world ablaze. I want to know everything about her. But there’s a problem. She’s the mother of one of my players and my sister-from-another-mister’s best friend, making her completely off-limits.

I should focus on getting back to my team. I should remember I have no time for anything besides hockey. But the more time I spend with Ramona and her son, the more the lines between what I should do and what I want start to blur.

Hockey has always been my life, but now, all I know for certain is the one thing I won’t do is walk away from her.

READ-2-REVEIW - CONTEMPORARY SUSPENSE - HIGH DENSITY (High Mountain Trackers: HMT 2G, #3) by Freya Barker

High Density
High Mountain Trackers HMT 2G, #3
by Freya Barker
Release Date: February 17th 2025
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Since taking over the veterinary clinic in Libby, Montana last year, Janey Richards has been burning the candle at both ends. She’s grateful she is busy, but there has barely been any time to build a life outside of work. To help pay down her debt faster, she agrees to take on responsibility for the livestock at Libby’s annual rodeo, but perhaps she should’ve thought twice about the added stress. Although, her personal life is definitely looking up.

JD Watike never thought he’d end up following in his father’s footsteps, but he’s found his stride these past six years as a member of the High Mountain Trackers team. He enjoys the simplicity of small-town living, which has only gotten more interesting since Doc Richards appeared on the scene. Spending most of the past year patiently observing from a distance, the time feels right for him to make his move. Or at least to clear up some misunderstandings.

The opportunity presents itself sooner than expected, when the pretty veterinarian stumbles onto some serious criminal activity at the Libby Roundup, and a young woman disappears from the grounds, he has plenty of cause to stay glued to her side.

BLURB

Sadie Billingsly cannot remember the last time she ate a vegetable, shaved her legs, or slept in a bed. Since the morning she woke up in the hospital and was told her husband was dead, nothing resembled her life. For the last ten months all she’d been able to do was survive the life she’d been dealt. She quit going to her private practice, started lying to her mom, and knew entirely too much about the top ten streaming movies any given day.

Campbell Stone watched from a far as Sadie, his departed best friend’s wife, withdrew from society. He didn’t want to upset her with mentioning she should return to work, but most of all, he didn’t want to hurt her with the truth about the year leading up to the accident that spared her life and took his best friend’s. He knew her amnesia of the events and time prior to the fateful night was necessary to protect her.

Sometimes your life has to fall apart so it can fall into place. The storm that hit Boone County that night in November did more than knock out half the town’s electricity… with the help of a stranger, it shifted Sadie’s mindset about her situation. But time would tell if she was ready to face the truth about her marriage, Campbell Stone, and her part in the night that changed her life.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . FORGET ME NOT (Women of Boone County, #3) . . . I would not necessarily say that you have to have read the two prior books in this series, but that would have let you feel comfortable and familiar with Boone County and some of its people. I found that Sadie had to encounter much to get to where she was. I also found that the amnesia was her chance to have a new outlook on life. Campbell was a consistent counterpoint to all she was going through. I had a few tears, sadness, joy, pleasantness, and community. I am looking forward to the next Woman of Boone County.

"If you haven't discovered Julieann Dove's books, start right now with Coming Home, the first book in her latest series. It's filled with the complex characters and small-town charm I love." -Sherryl Woods, New York Times #1 bestselling author of The Sweet Magnolias and Chesapeake Shores series.

Author Info
Julieann Dove takes great pleasure in writing about love and all the mess that goes along with it. How else does happily ever after become realized, if not for some type of hardship and journey? When she’s not writing, she loves playing with fabric at her sewing machine, baking new recipes, and playing in the dirt, trying to get things to grow. Julieann loves old movies, and never tires of listening to music—it’s where she finds most of her inspiration for her books.
