READ-2-REVIEW - HOLIDAY ROMANCE - CHRISTMAS WITH AN ALIEN: A Sci-fi Alien Holiday Romance by Tana Stone

Christmas With an Alien

A Sci-Fi Alien Holiday Romance

by Tana Stone

October 27th 2023

Kindle Unlimited

When an alien comes to Earth during the holidays with a list, personal shopper Caroline is tasked to help him find everything he wants…but what he wants is a bride.

BLURB
Caroline isn’t a Scrooge, but the weeks leading to Christmas are not her favorite. The personal shopping department where she works is insanely busy and the clients have crazy requests. Plus, this is her first holiday being single after a bad breakup. When her last appointment of the day is a gorgeous, blue-skinned alien, she isn’t too surprised. After all, everyone knows that aliens are real since a species of interstellar warriors revealed themselves and the fact that they’d been defending Earth for decades.

What does startle Caroline is that Griff isn’t looking for unique Christmas presents. He’s on Earth to find a mate.

Although she reluctantly agrees to help him, finding a bride for an alien isn’t as easy as it might seem, especially when word gets out that the hottie is on the market. Between the alien-obsessed women swiping right on his new dating profiles and the paparazzi dogging them, Griff is no closer to finding a bride. He is much closer to his personal shopper, though. If only she didn’t think loyal guys were as much of a fantasy as flying reindeer.

Can Griff melt the ice in Caroline’s heart and convince her that good things do come in big, blue packages?

Christmas with an Alien is a standalone, sweet and steamy, sci-fi, Christmas, he falls first, romantic comedy. It’s loosely connected to the Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors series, but it can be read on its own without having read any books in that series.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . CHRISTMAS WITH AN ALIEN . . .   For one woman and an alien, this holiday they will find something one is looking for an the other wants nothing to do with. Griff and Caroline find they are working together to find that very special gift on one holiday list. Griff was visiting Earth to find the one thing he could not find on his home world. He had his list in hand with everything he was looking for. On the advice (or push) from another, Griff finds himself at the mercy of a personal shopper. Not the one he was sent to see, but nonetheless a personal shopper that will make his list easier. He was in ready for what this shopping experience had in store for him.

Caroline was ready for her day to be over. She was over the holiday season. She was over the hustle and bustle of filling every whim of someone's personal holiday list. She was coerced to take one more customer for the day. She was a good friend. She found the list from this next customer to be one that she may not be able to fill. I enjoy this holiday hunt to be light, fun, and blue.

I was so ready for Miranda to get what was coming to her. I would have loved to experienced that. I wanted the ex and mother to get there moment to eat humble pie. Will Olivia get a story? Will there be a follow up to see where Griff and Caroline end up? Thanks Tana for a delightful holiday read.

READ-2-REVIEW - PNR FANTASY - VEILS AND VAMPIRES (Vampires of the Daemonverse, #2) by CEE BEE

Veils and Vampires
Vampires of the Daemonverse, #2
by CEE BEE
Publication date: October 14th 2023
Genres: Adult, Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance

BLURB

Highlander meets Twilight with a dash of Fifty Shades of Grey in this vampire romantasy…

Caelin MacGregor is an ancient king with a new love
Ages ago, I ruled a clan of vampire raiders. We were allies to the Vikings and enemies of the Rus. That life ended when the bloodkin plague wiped out all our women, including my beloved vampire bride, Elisava. A thousand years have passed. My heart remains empty. Then I see a human woman named Lexa. For the first time in ages, I feel true desire, respect and love. Could Lexa actually be a lost bloodkin lady … or is she a horrible trick from Pyri, the ancient fire goddess of the Rus raiders?

Lexa Uznetsov has a plan
To save my sister, Sash, I took on my father’s debt to Konstantin the Rus, leader of the New York Bratva. As a result, my life became a never-ending (and incredibly illegal) stakeout for the mob. After years of scheming, I’ve finally come up with a solid escape plan: find all three pieces of the infamous Veil Pendant. Once I reassemble this magical item, I’ll have the power to cure my sister … as well as the ability to say buh-bye to Konstantin. Sure, legends warn that reforming the Veil Pendant may bring about some nastiness called Pyri’s doomsday. Yet if it saves Sash, I’m willing to risk anything.

“Veils and Vampires is amazing! It has action and adventure and a little spicy. Enough that it makes you drool and want more. Honestly a totally different take on modern day vampire soulmates. I devoured this book in one sitting.” – Teresa, Goodreads

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . VEILS AND VAMPIRES (Vampires of the Daemonverse, #2) . . . We are back with more of the Vampires of the Daemonverse. We get more of what was Caelin and what it is now. There was more Lexa. Romance. Action. Adventure. Drama. Oh, did I forget to say a little more intensity. It is short but you will feel a lot more. This was sisterly love at its height. How many can say their sister would take on the mob, darkness, and possible dooms to the world. I ready for more. This was just that extra piece I wanted.

READ-2-REVIEW - HE IS CREED: Part 1 by Lisa Renee Jones

He Is Creed: Part 1
Windwalkers, #1
by Lisa Renee Jones
Publication Date: October 19th 2023

They created a weapon. And he is that weapon...

BLURB
He was stationed at Area 51, a loyal soldier serving his country, and later injected with what he believed to be a standard vaccination, only it was an experiment. Now he's a weapon, a man with skills like no other, who can travel with the wind, a man with darkness within that he battles every day of his life.

Then he meets Addie—the light to his darkness, the daughter of the man who created him. Addie is the only one who understands Creed, the only one who makes him feel more man than monster.

But there is war in the air between Creed, his fellow Windwalkers, and Addie's father. Creed will not allow himself, or the others like him, to live as pawns and weapons.

Now Addie must choose a side.
Her father or the man she loves.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . HE IS CREED: Part 1 (Windwalkers, #1) . . . "They created a weapon. And he is that weapon..." That statement right there says it all. If that did not get you, the detailed glossary of the terms before the first line of the story would. I was pulled in further by the glossary. I wanted to experience them in the story. I have to say that I am very excited for the next part of 'He is Creed'. I don't want to give away anything. This was full service captivation. There was much to be fascinated about and much to think on. Could this happen now? Is this happening now. How far will one go to have the ultimate weapon? What would happen when they could not longer control that weapon? I loved it from the cover to the last tap on my screen. I have already pre-order the next installment. I will most certainly be re-reading this one before the when the next is released.

Along with all that was previously stated, there were a large number of terms to encounter in the story. This part did not hit all of them but there are still two more parts to consume. I am waiting.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed Page-turner Entertaining Wonderful characters Great world building

READ-2-REVIEW - CONTEMPORARY - WHERE WE BELONG (Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers, #8) by Claudia Burgoa

WHERE WE BELONG
Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers, #8
by Claudia Burgoa

From USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa comes a best friend’s little sister, single dad romance featuring a hot doctor and his sweet little daughter.

BLURB

I’ve been in love with Benedict Farrow since I was fourteen years old.

He’s my older brother’s best friend.

One night we almost crossed that line.

One night I almost got everything I wanted.

Now he’s moved back to our small town—a hot single dad with a daughter.

But I have finally moved on. I have a boyfriend who I actually like.

I let Benedict go—Didn’t I?

Hot, arrogant, confident Dr. Benedict Farrow is out of my life.

At least, I think he is.

But when he makes me laugh, I wonder if I ever got over him.

There’s no one who knows me better than him.

How can someone I loved so much cause me so much pain now?

If we went there again, it would ruin everything.

Where We Belong is an angsty-filled story of forbidden love, second chances, and the healing power of family. This is a must-read for fans of small-town romances and hot doctors with a heart of gold.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . WHERE WE BELONG (Paradise Bay Billionaire Brothers, #8) . . . My first trip to Paradise Bay. The small town was home to both our Bene and Cora. But six months ago Cora pulled away from Bene and Bernie. She left their lives without a word. Yes, three years ago Bene and Cora's relationship changed. Cora was hurt by something she had no control over. Bene did not seem to have much control in the situation either.

Cora was Bene's best friends little sister. With that said the two still had a strong relationship. Cora was Aunt Cora to his little girl. She was a present in his life until it all change six month ago. She walked away. She did not look back and now, she is in a relationship with a man no one has met.

Could Cora have a type of man? Could she be just stepping into another role like the one she had with Bene? Can she truly escape her feelings for the one man that make her sing? Can Cora find happiness outside of Paradise Bay? Will she repair what was broken between her and Bene? These are just a few of the questions that will be answered when you read Where We Belong.

Something that will be of interest. There are some great couples that you meet along the journey of Cora and Bene. There were some family dynamics that were explored or touched upon. There were other invents of interest. If you have not read any of the other books of the series you may feel the need to do so. This story itself stands alone. I just want to know more.

READ-2-REVIEW - NA CONTEMPORARY - UNINHIBITED (Bainbridge University, #3) by Andi Burns

UNINHIBITED
Bainbridge University, #3
by Andi Burns

Whit

My first memory is of breaking my mom’s heart. Yea, people know me as the good-time guy, the guy with the jokes, the deejay who's always up for a party. But underneath all of that, I’m the guy who lets people down wherever I go.

The one person who sees past all my bullshit is Lucy. She always has, since we were thirteen and she hated my guts. But I’ve never hated her. Lucy is my ideal in every way-- gorgeous and funny and smart and takes no shit with an ass that won’t quit. Too bad she’s also my stepsister.

But don’t worry, ma. Nothing to see here. Afterall, Lucy can’t stand me, so when we go roadtripping together, nothing will happen, right?

Except it does. And neither one of us is ready for the fallout.

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . UNINHIBITED (Bainbridge University, #3) . . .  We step into the world of Bainbridge University. Our new adults embark on a new world and make their way through it the best they can. At Bainbridge University, we meet four young men that have forged a bond between them that was more than the family they were born into. This time we meet Whit. Whit and Lucy have a history unlike that of the other brothers in the chapel.

Whit finds himself 13-year-old and share a confidence with a 13-year-old Lucy. The two of them meet in summer camp over next several years. The cement a friendship that could have been more, but one of them have some strong future goals. This ends what could have been growing between the two. Years later is where we find Whit in all his glory. He is not very motivated in his direction, but he can cook, he is a great friends, and he love his mom. And he has mental health issues. These issues are touched upon in the story but not beat to death. I am not sure if that was a good or bad thing. That matter of mental health can create an issue. I think the way Andi has it works with this story.

Lucy. She is a different subject matter. She felt that her goals for life were the only thing. She had plans to be something more. She had her steps planned out. She never and he never anticipated they would see each other again so soon. One evening. One party. One morning after. Two phone calls to two people brings them both back into each other orbit on a regular basis.

Watching the two of them grow more together was beautiful. Their struggles and disappointments were shared. They were indeed friends. Friends that became more. Their bond was strong and drove each to do that extra to show support to the other.

Thank you Andi. I am so anticipating the next brother's story. I have had a delightful journey with the first three brothers.
