No pressure at all. At least not that much.  Come step inside and she what a secret have in store for a new journey in your mind. Short but it had a lot packed in there to keep you entertained.

Ghosts just don’t show up for anybody.

So when I meet the spirit of a former slave named Moses, I know he needs my help. But I didn’t expect to be taking on half of my town, or the powerful men who seem to run everything and have done so for years.

Secrets are being uncovered, and some people would do anything to keep them buried, no matter who gets hurt. I’ll need the help of history and friends I can trust if I want to save Moses’ graveyard and protect his legacy.

If only everyone believed it was one worth protecting…

 LOVE AND OTHER SINS
by Emilia Ares
Narrators: Karissa Vacker, Will Collyer
Length: 10 hours and 7 minutes
Released: November 11th 2021
Publisher: SERA Press
Genre: Contemporary Romance; Young Adult

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . LOVE AND OTHER SINS . . . If you are looking to be fully engrossed and have your senses and emotions taken for a ride. Then I would highly recommend this one. I got more than I was bargaining for when I clicked play. Mina and Oliver could not have been more different and yet the same. They both were at the point in their lives that their future was in their hands to make something more, different, better. They both learn that life had more then good will to offer them and that their past will always be hunting for their future.

Karissa Vacker & Will Collyer did a fab job with giving us complex characters with the emotions of it all attached. Their performances made for a more enjoyable read with visual cues intact. The way the brough to life Emillia's words was wonderful. The complex of emotions: pain, sorrow, loss, trust issues, freedom, realizations.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Emilia Ares. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Mina’s life is going according to plan; she’s acing AP Calc and is perfectly content with her nonexistent social life. Though only a high school junior, Mina knows time is an investment, and she’s putting all her capital into academics. Oliver, a child abuse survivor who grew up in the foster care system, is ready to burn down his old life and start from scratch - complete with a new name and emancipation papers - in LA. When the two are thrown together through circumstance and develop an unexpected connection, they discover how hard it is to keep the past in the past.

Content warning: sexual assault, recollections of child abuse, discussions of suicidal thoughts, and mention of miscarriage.

READ-2-REVIEW - CONTEMPORARY - MAYBE WE WON'T (Silver Harbor, #3) by Melissa Foster

 MAYBE WE WON’T
Silver Harbor, #3
Melissa Foster
Releasing April 26th 2022
Montlake Romance

BLURB
A sexy and soul-stirring novel about love, family, and rediscovering what matters most by Melissa Foster, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe We Will.

When workaholic Boston attorney Deirdra de MessiĆ©res is passed over for a well-deserved promotion, she takes a two-month hiatus to show her boss just how much he needs her and heads home to Silver Island. But beyond seeing her sisters happy, home is not where Deirdra’s heart is. She has no interest in their family restaurant, the Bistro, or reliving hurtful childhood memories, and absolutely no interest in spending a single second with Josiah “Jagger” Jones, the Bistro’s too-laid-back musician and chef. Sure, the hippie is hot, but he drives her nuts. The guy lives in a van with his dog, and he can’t even commit to a solid work schedule. To make matters worse, he’s always around. She needs to get off the island, stat.

Jagger has overcome his own personal trials to place stock in life’s pleasures: family, friends, peace…and if he has his way, one positively beautiful, absolutely uptight attorney. Jagger knows he’s the perfect person to help Deirdra deal with her hurtful past and find her way back to being happy.

A chance encounter leads to deep conversation, and night after liberating night, Deirdra lets down her guard. But neither is long for Silver Island. Free-spirited Jagger has wanderlust, and Deirdra has a career to return to. They’re on different paths, and plans for a future together don’t stand a chance. But when has anything gone according to plan?

The Silver Harbor series is published by Montlake Romance and will be available in paperback and audio formats at all book retailers, and exclusively in digital format for Kindle and Kindle apps. Download a free Kindle reading app here: http://bit.ly/FreeKindle_App1

The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . . MAYBE WE WON'T (Silver Harbor, #3) . . . Silver Harbor had much to share with the world. With this installment we get Deirdra de MessiĆ©res. In the first we got baby sister Abby with Aiden an outsider and the introduction of a sister neither daughter of the de MessiĆ©res knew about. Then in the second installment we get the unknown sister, Cait with hometown boy Brant. Now, we get to see more of the tough girl, workaholic, protector of her sisters, no nonsense Deirdra.

Deirdra came back home to be with her family only as a temporary fix to the disappointment she felt over losing a promotion she thought should have been hers. While back at home she sees all the the things she had been missing. The connections that made home home. She missed the little things that made her sisters relationships the glue. She did not miss the hippy boy that was now in the know of her family and friends. She did not miss Dolly putting her nose in places it should not go. She missed the clear way life should go and the order it should be in.

Jagger was a different kind of man. He was free. He was wise. He was him. Open, kind, smart, funny, sexy, and young. What was it about him that really rubbed Deirdra the wrong way. Or was it the right way and she just was too stubborn to realize it.

It started with a peek. Then a little conversation. Then a kiss. With each little something it all lead to the impossible. Deirdra and Jagger. The something that worked for them. The impossible to something possible.

When, through accident and circumstance, she meets both a motorcycle-driving stranger and the new mysterious boy next door, Elin's world is turned upside down. As Elin is drawn into a brewing supernatural conflict - with her two unusual acquaintances on opposite sides, she must decipher who to trust while unearthing her island's secrets and those buried deep within herself. But when the search for answers triggers the Clan's sinister schemes, Elin and her companions will have to confront far bigger and deadlier secrets than they ever imagined. And they'll need much more than themselves to survive! Welcome to Auor Island - and the legend and magic within its ruins!
