The Book Junkie Reads . . . Review of . . .WATCHER (The Watcher, #1) . . . I found it just as good the second time around. I was lured in to this ultra sci-fi fantasy world where the world in not quite what it use to be and living day to day was a shot in the dark. A world where science and the dabbling in cloning has escalated to something so much more.
One exciting exploration in a world of copied humans, advanced humans, protective humans, a world like none we know of. Or is it? Could this be the world to come? I was excited and allured by the depth and details of this world shared via first person POV. It was filled with action, intensity, fantasy, intrigue. There was a world like one could image would come to take place if various science and genetic copying was to be permitted openly. There are many things to draw you in, but for me it was from the beginning and jumping of that enormous building to the ground and engaging the enemy, alone.
The narration pair did a good job trading off and bring in their own styles and level of complexity that makes you feel like you are experiencing the world first hand. The two voices makes for an engaging listen. I anticipate the next audio release of the series. Listening to the book allowed for the pictures of the words to just come to life in my mind. Allowing me to make a deeper connection with the characters, the world, the story.
